One male staff needed for event company who organises street food events every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from the start of October until the end of April (3 weeks holiday unpaid from Christmas until after new years). Must be able to work during these months.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• You will need to have a drivers license for this job to drive a small truck. The truck has automatic transmission.
• The truck is parked at a residential home in Noranda, so will be need to be at the house by 1pm to swap your car with the truck and drive it to the event destination. We need to be at the location just before 2pm each time. Each location is different and may take longer to arrive so we need to work out the distance to make sure we arrive on time.
• when arriving at the location, we need to start setting up tables and chairs, lights and music before the food trucks and stalls start arriving where we will be assisting them to park.
• setup time usually takes around 1.5 hours only.
• the food events start at 5pm where customers start arriving. By 4pm we should already be finished with setup. During the time of the event; the only duties are to walk around, pick up rubbish, clean tables and chairs after customers finish, answer basic questions if customers ask, and make sure the event is running smoothly with no issues.
• the official event finishes at 8:30pm but we start to pack down earlier depending on how many customers are still there. All the tables, chairs, lights etc will be packed back into the truck.
• pack down time usually takes around 1.5 hours only.
• we cannot leave the location untill all other food vendors leave because we have to lock the gates.
• then we drive the truck to my warehouse located in Osborne Park where you offload rubbish backs into my big bins provided. This will only take 10-15 minutes.
• then finally you drive the truck back to Noranda to drop off the truck and you finish and go home.
Please note, some nights may finish earlier and sometimes later, it really depends on how busy the event is. Sometimes it rains unexpectedly so we close down very early. But pay will be the same. If the event is canceled because we know it will definitely rain, then there will be no work (no pay). The expected time you will get back to the house in Noranda is roughly 9:30pm-10pm.
We would prefer if you had your own ABN so we can hire you as a contractor. The pay is a fixed $300 per day. You will be paid from the time you arrive to the Park at 2pm until the truck gets back to the Noranda house at roughly 9:30pm-10pm. (Roughly 7.5-8hours work).
Good English skills is preferred as you will need to communicate with me, vendors and customers. The job is very important so the successful applicant must be punctual each day to ensure the event operates smoothly.
